FAQ
Do you have a cabin we can view?
If you are local to Nelson, please contact us and we will direct you to where you can view a fully constructed cabin.
Can we make changes to the design of the cabin?
As our cabins are steel framed you cannot change the dimensions, but you can change how the space is configured. For example, if you would like custom sized windows or doors, or even connect multiple cabins together, please feel free to ask and we will happily work out a price for you.
Are there any size restrictions on the cabins?
Due to our unique steel frame construction, our cabins are made to set dimensions. You can however join multiple cabins together to create a larger space. Please note that it is the responsibility of the individual customer to confirm with their local authority whether any specific building permits are required at their location.
How long will the build take?
Once the deposit has been received, the build will generally take approx. 4 weeks to complete.
Do you make kitsets or build cabins on site?
No, we don’t currently offer kitsets due to our unique steel frame construction. All of our builds are completed in our Nelson workshop.
Do I need building consent?
As our cabins are less than ten square metres, they don’t usually require a building permit, but it is recommended that you check with your local authority for the rules in your specific area.
Is transport an additional fee on top of the cabin price?
Yes, and naturally these costs will vary depending on your location, access and the size of your cabin.
What are the payment terms?
We require a 50% deposit prior to starting the build, the balance is due on completion, prior to delivery.
How is power connected to the cabin?
We recommend wiring an external power point to the site, which a standard caravan socket can plug in to.
